H2O to Go ("H2O to Go," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. It applies to www.pureh2otogo.com, to our text message and email programs, and to the information we collect when you order or receive our bottled water delivery service.

1. Mobile information and text messaging
This section describes how we handle phone numbers and text message consent. Please read it carefully.
We do not share your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not sell, rent, lease, trade, or otherwise transfer your mobile phone number, your text messaging consent, or your opt-in data to any third party, affiliate, lead generator, data broker, or marketing partner, for any purpose. Consent to receive text messages from H2O to Go applies only to H2O to Go and is never transferred to another business.
What mobile information we collect, and how
We collect your mobile phone number and related information in the following ways:
- You give it to us directly. When you request a quote, start service, place an order, or set up an account on www.pureh2otogo.com, or when you call our office at 757-605-1000 and give your number to a member of our team.
- You give it to us on a paper or in-person form. For example, at a delivery appointment, a service sign-up, or a community event.
- You give it to us when you text us. If you send a text message to a number we publish, we receive your mobile number.
Along with your mobile number, we keep a record of your consent to receive text messages. That record includes the date and time you opted in, the method you used to opt in, and the wording of the disclosure you agreed to. We also keep a log of the messages we send you, whether they were delivered, and any reply you send us, including any request to stop.
How consent is obtained
We only send text messages to customers and prospective customers who have given us express written consent to receive them.
You provide that consent by taking one of the following affirmative actions:
- On our website. Checking an unchecked opt-in box next to language that identifies H2O to Go by name, describes the kinds of messages you will receive, and links to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms and Conditions. The box is never pre-checked, and consent to receive marketing text messages is never a condition of purchasing our service.
- On a paper or in-person form. Signing or initialing next to the same disclosure language.
- By text. Sending a start or join keyword to a number we publish for that purpose.
- Verbally, on a recorded or documented call. When you ask a member of our team to enroll your number and we record that request against your account.
Consent is collected separately for each program. Agreeing to receive delivery and account notifications does not enroll you in promotional messages, and agreeing to promotional messages does not obligate you to keep receiving them.
What kinds of messages we send
Depending on which programs you have opted into, we may send:
- Delivery and account notifications. Upcoming delivery reminders, delivery confirmations, bottle return reminders, schedule changes, service interruptions, and reminders that a payment card on file is about to expire.
- Customer service messages. Replies to questions you send us, and follow-ups about an open service request.
- Promotional messages. Offers, seasonal promotions, and news about our service, sent only to customers who have separately opted in to receive them.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your delivery schedule and your account activity. Most customers receive approximately 2 to 4 messages per month.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. H2O to Go does not charge you for text messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for the messages you send and receive under your plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to stop receiving messages
Reply STOP to any message from us to opt out at any time. We will send you one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and after that we will not send you further text messages unless you opt in again. You can also opt out by calling us at 757-605-1000 or emailing info@pureh2otogo.com.
Reply HELP to any message from us for help, or contact us at 757-605-1000 or info@pureh2otogo.com.
Opting out of text messages does not cancel your water delivery service and does not stop us from contacting you by phone, email, or mail about your account. If you want to cancel your service, please call us at 757-605-1000.
Supported carriers
Message delivery is subject to your carrier's network availability. We are not responsible for messages that are delayed or not delivered because of your carrier, your device, or your coverage.
2. Personal information we collect
Beyond the mobile information described in Section 1, we collect the following:
- Identity and contact information. Your first and last name, the name of your business if you are a commercial customer, your service and billing addresses, your email address, and your phone numbers.
- Delivery and service information. Your delivery schedule, the products and quantities you receive, the number of bottles and any rented equipment at your location, gate codes or access instructions you give us, delivery notes and preferences, and your service history.
- Account information. Your account number, your order and delivery history, your invoices and payment history, and any correspondence between you and our team.
- Payment information. See Section 3. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Website and device information. See Section 4.
- Communications you send us. The content of emails, text messages, web form submissions, and voicemails you send us, and notes our team takes about your service calls.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health information, or information about race, religion, or sexual orientation. Please do not send us that kind of information.
3. Payment information
Payment card and bank account information is collected and processed by our third party payment processor, not by H2O to Go. Basys, through its iQ Pro payment platform, handles card and ACH transactions for our service, including recurring billing for delivery plans.
We do not store your full card number, your card security code, or your full bank account number on our own systems. Our systems retain only a token supplied by the processor, along with limited identifying details such as the card brand, the last four digits, and the expiration date, so that we can service your account, take a payment you authorize, and let you know when a card is about to expire.
Our payment processor handles your payment information under its own privacy policy and its PCI DSS obligations. We encourage you to read it.
4. Cookies, analytics, and website data
When you visit www.pureh2otogo.com, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and connection information. Your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, and screen size.
- Usage information. The pages you view, the links you click, the date and time of your visit, how long you stay on a page, how far you scroll, and the website or advertisement that referred you.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small data files stored on your device, along with similar technologies such as tags, pixels, and local storage.
We use these technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary. To keep the site working, to keep you signed in during a session, to remember what is in your cart, and to protect against fraud and abuse. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics. To understand how visitors find and use our site so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4 for this purpose.
- Advertising and measurement. To measure whether our advertising works, to understand which advertisements and search results lead to orders, and to help Google show our advertisements to people likely to be interested in our service. Our Google Analytics property is linked to our Google Ads account, and we may also send Google information about completed orders and qualified enquiries so that our advertising results can be measured accurately. This never includes your mobile phone number or your text messaging consent.
We may also create and use aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you, for any business purpose, including analysis, reporting, benchmarking, and improving our service.
How to control cookies. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of our site from working. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google's browser add on, and you can adjust the advertisements Google shows you in your Google account settings.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Our website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control browser signals, because no common standard for those signals has been adopted. You can still exercise the choices described in Sections 10 and 11 by contacting us directly.
5. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide the service. Set up your account, schedule and make deliveries, track bottles and rented equipment, and manage your delivery plan.
- Bill you and collect payment. Process the payments you authorize, issue invoices and receipts, manage recurring billing, and follow up on failed or expiring payment methods.
- Communicate with you about your account. Confirm orders, send delivery and bottle return reminders, notify you of schedule changes or service interruptions, and answer your questions.
- Send you marketing, by email or text message, but only where you have given us the consent that applies to that channel, and only until you tell us to stop.
- Personalize what we show you, including tailoring the offers, products, and content you see on our website and in our marketing to what is most relevant to you.
- Measure and improve our advertising, including understanding which advertisements, search results, and campaigns lead to orders.
- Improve our service and our website, including analyzing how customers use the site, researching what our customers need, and developing new products, plans, and services.
- Protect our business. Detect and prevent fraud, secure our systems, enforce our Terms and Conditions, and resolve disputes.
- Comply with the law, including tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without human involvement, and we do not sell your personal information.
6. How we share your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your mobile phone number, your text messaging consent, or your opt in data with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes, ever.
We share limited personal information only in the following situations:
- Service providers who work on our behalf. We use vendors and partners to run parts of our business, including payment processing, route and delivery management, text message and email delivery, website hosting and development, customer support tools, analytics, and advertising measurement. These vendors receive only the information they need to do their job for us, are required to protect it, and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
- Agency, marketing, and technology partners. We work with outside partners who help us operate our website, our customer systems, our reporting, and our marketing. They act for H2O to Go under our instructions, on the same terms as any other service provider, and they may not use your information for their own purposes.
- Advertising and analytics platforms. As described in Section 4, we share website usage information and order and enquiry outcomes with Google so that our advertising can be measured and improved. Mobile phone numbers and text messaging consent are excluded from this.
- Professional advisors. Our accountants, auditors, insurers, and attorneys, where they need the information to advise us.
- Legal and safety reasons. Where we are required to disclose information by law, subpoena, court order, or valid request from a public authority, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our property, the safety of our employees or customers, or to investigate fraud.
- Business transfer. If H2O to Go is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction. If that happens, we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy, and your text message consent will remain subject to the non sharing commitment above.
In every one of the categories above, text messaging originator opt in data and consent are excluded. That information is not shared with any third party. The only exception is the messaging provider we use to actually deliver a message to your phone at your request, which acts on our behalf and is contractually prohibited from using your number for any other purpose.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information for as long as you are a customer and afterward for as long as we need it to run our business, resolve disputes, and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
- Account, delivery, and billing records: seven years after your account closes, to align with tax and accounting record keeping.
- Text messaging consent and opt out records: at least five years after you opt out, because carrier and federal telemarketing rules require us to be able to prove that we had your consent and that we honored your opt out.
- Website analytics data: no more than 14 months.
When we no longer need your information, we delete it or de identify it. We may keep aggregated or de-identified information for longer.
8. How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections on our website, access controls that limit who on our team can see customer data, and a payment processor that keeps card data off our systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at 757-605-1000.
9. Children's privacy
Our website and our service are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not direct our marketing to children. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at info@pureh2otogo.com and we will delete it.
10. Your privacy rights
Regardless of where you live, you can always:
- Ask us what we hold about you, and ask for a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
- Stop marketing. Reply STOP to any text message, click the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or call us at 757-605-1000.
To make a request, email info@pureh2otogo.com or call 757-605-1000. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by confirming details already on your account. We will respond within 45 days of receiving a request we can verify.
11. Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act
An honest note on whether this law applies to us. The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code Ann. Section 59.1-575 and following, applies to a business only if, in a calendar year, it controls or processes the personal data of at least 100,000 Virginia consumers, or controls or processes the personal data of at least 25,000 Virginia consumers and derives more than 50 percent of its gross revenue from selling personal data.
H2O to Go is well below both thresholds and does not sell personal data, so the VCDPA does not currently impose obligations on us as a matter of law. We are stating the rights below and honoring them voluntarily, because we think our customers should have them regardless, and because our numbers could change.
If you are a Virginia resident, you may:
- Confirm whether we are processing your personal data, and access it.
- Correct inaccuracies in your personal data.
- Delete personal data you provided or that we obtained about you.
- Obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable, readily usable format.
- Opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising, for the sale of personal data, or for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell personal data and we do not conduct that kind of profiling.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@pureh2otogo.com or call 757-605-1000. We will respond within 45 days, and we may extend that once by another 45 days where reasonably necessary, in which case we will tell you why.
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response or writing to us at the address above with the word "Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond to an appeal within 60 days. If we deny the appeal, you may submit a complaint to the Virginia Attorney General at oag.state.va.us.
Note on business customers. The VCDPA covers Virginia residents acting in an individual or household context. It does not cover information about individuals acting in a commercial or employment context, so information we hold about a contact at one of our commercial accounts may fall outside these rights.
12. Third party links
Our website and our messages may contain links to sites we do not operate, including our payment processor. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Read their policies before giving them your information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make a material change to how we handle your information, including anything affecting text messaging, we will notify you by email or text message before the change takes effect, where the law requires it or where the change is significant enough that you should know.
